Creative Commons is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a globally-accessible public commons of knowledge and culture. They provide licensing as a means to register ownership of internet material (e.g., texts, images, audio, video, etc.) as well as listing the acceptable usage rights for such material. The Analytical Sciences Digital Library (ASDL) uses the Creative Commons License for articles published in its journal, JASDL. Under the Creative Commons(TM) license, author(s) retain copyright ownership while allowing content access to the public domain.
